How you can impact:

As the Campus Director, Nursing you will:

  • Oversee program curriculum, instruction, labs/classrooms, equipment, supplies, materials. Selects books, materials, supplies, and equipment for training, courses, or projects used in program instruction.
  • Ensure program compliance with state and institutional and programmatic accreditors and with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, college policies and procedures in concert with other American Career College programs.
  • Ensure all communication regarding the applicable program board, accrediting and/or licensing agency, changes to program content, physical facilities, and faculty, legal receipts/requests for documents, and/or completion of required reports in order to maintain programmatic accreditation and/or licensure status is coordinated through the appropriate Administrative Department.
  • Coordinate and actively participate on Program Advisory Board; provides reports and information as needed; ensures college guidelines and goals are applied consistently throughout the organization.
  • Oversee scheduling of classes, student assessment and progress, and program administration. Plans, directs and provides daily guidance of didactic, laboratory, and clinical assignments and/or scheduling of classes.
  • Develop budgets, plans, and staffing requirements for the operation of the program and manages daily operations, staffing and expenses to remain within budget guidelines.
  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate all program faculty; improves retention and morale and performance efficiencies. Holds periodic faculty meetings to provide for subject matter correlation and curriculum evaluation, and to coordinate activities of full-time, part-time and substitute faculty.

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate has a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse; one (1) year shall be in teaching or clinical supervision, or a combination thereof, in a state approved registered nursing, vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five (5) years; or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in nursing administration or nursing education within the last five (5) years, and possesses the following qualifications:

  • Leadership knowledge in the program field to cultivate a learner-centered environment and to foster excellence.
  • Knowledge in technological support and delivery of program area and services.
  • Knowledge and evidence of strong supervisory and management skills as applicable to specialized program area.
  • Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as Title IV, ABHES, BPPE, and other accreditation standards.

Education:

  • Hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the US Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Completed a course or courses offered by an approved school with instruction in administration, teaching, and curriculum development.
  • Must possess a Certificate of Completion of a course in teaching methodology of at least 30 hours.
  • Current CPR card.
  • Texas Board of Nursing Requirements:
    • Current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas.
  • Master's degree in nursing preferred.
