You will make an impact by:

  • Overseeing, supervising, and managing faculty and students assigned to clinical sites, makes phone or on-site visits, mediates conflicts, establishes specific learning objectives, records attendance and supervises clinical affiliations to ensure that the expertise is adequate and achieves a satisfactory level of performance.
  • Providing professional leadership and support for clinical teaching faculty; serves as a mentor and facilitator for faculty assigned; and enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility.
  • Ensuring students are current on vaccinations, assigns clinical sites and records attendance. Coordinates and assigns students to clinical sites for the Surgical Technology program.
  • Maintaining records and ensures compliance with the college and Surgical Technology program policies and procedures.
  • Participating in school activities such as student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.

Your Experience Includes:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of operating room experience or three (3) years of teaching experience in the field, or a combination of the two, within the last five (5) years.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in the subject areas taught or demonstrate prior training in instructional methodology and teaching skills from a formal teacher educational program or any comparable training program or formal in-house training program.

Education:

  • A minimum of an associate degree with the appropriate coursework in the subject area required.
  • Must be a graduate from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the specialty field or the subject area in which they teach.
  • Must demonstrate training in educational methods, testing and evaluation and evidence strength in instructional methodology, delivery and techniques as indicated by evaluation personnel within 30 days of beginning instruction.
  • Certified in the field of Surgical Technology through a national credentialing organization accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
  • Current CPR Card.
