Responsibilities
At American Career College, we share a passion for students and transforming healthcare education! As a part of this team, you will guide students to do more than change their own lives – you will help change the lives of every patient they care for throughout their career. At American Career College, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and passion with the next generation of Occupational Therapy Assistants!
You will make an impact by:
- Delivering clinical instruction according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods; develops daily lesson plans; advises and tutors students; maintains current and accurate attendance and grade records; remains current in applicable program teaching field; participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, and in-service training sessions.
- Serving as an educator, role model, mentor, and facilitator.
- Focusing extensively on facilitating student learning associated with prescribed course and program learning outcomes.
- Actively and substantively participating in assessment of student learning activities to maximize the potential for students to learn what is necessary to meet prescribed outcomes.
Your experience includes:
- Minimum of three (3) years of related practical work experience in Occupational Therapy practice.
- Documented expertise in their area(s) of teaching responsibility and knowledge of the content delivery method (e.g., distance learning).
- Adult Care Specialty: Experience as a COTA in adult neuro-rehabilitation care settings required.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree
- Current Occupational Therapy Practitioner license (or eligible for licensure) in California.
- Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L).
- Current CPR Card
