Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Program Director, Radiography is responsible for coordinating and assigning students to clinical sites for the Radiography program. Ensures students are current on vaccinations, assigns clinical sites and records attendance. Maintains records and ensures compliance with the college and Radiography program policies and procedures in accordance with accreditation and state requirements. Participates in school activities such as student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Collects and maintains appropriate documentation related to clinical education, such as health forms, CPR certification, student evaluations and site evaluations.
- Plans and coordinates students’ clinical site orientations.
- Plans, coordinates, and manages students’ assignments to clinical facilities.
- Identifies clinical sites which support the student clinical requirements. Maintains accurate clinical site information database, including contact information and specific contractual agreement termination and expiration dates.
- Establishes and maintains communication lines between the clinical facilities, staff and American Career College.
- Apprises clinical affiliate staff of student assignment in each clinical area.
- Works with clinical affiliate staff to clarify policies and procedures specific to facility.
- Assists with clinical clearance of students.
- Adheres to College policies and procedures and acts as a role model to all staff and students through guidance and example.
- Maintains regular and timely attendance, reports to work as scheduled and assures time worked and/or time-off is recorded properly.
- Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the College’s Code of Ethical Conduct, Compliance Agreement, Sexual Harassment Policy or any of its policies and procedures, applicable federal and states laws, and applicable professional standards.
- Maintains established department policies, procedures and attends in-services and other required meetings.
- Maintains confidentiality of all students, associate, and/or college information as required.
- Exercises care, proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies and identifies unsafe conditions and makes appropriate adjustments.
- Maintains order, cleanliness and safety at work.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Must be a graduate from a radiography program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Preferred:
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Card.
- Current State of California CRT permit.
- California Fluoroscopy Licensure preferred.
Experience & Skills:
Required:
- Must have a minimum three (3) years of occupational experience in the field or closely related field. Of those three (3) years, two (2) years must be full-time clinical experience in diagnostic radiography.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in an accredited program in the subject areas taught or demonstrate prior training in instructional methodology and teaching skills from a formal teacher educational program or any comparable training program or formal in-house training program.
- Must demonstrate training in educational methods, testing and evaluation and evidence strength in instructional methodology, delivery and techniques as indicated by evaluation personnel within 30 days of beginning instruction.
- Experience with MS Office.
- Ability to demonstrate a thorough, accurate and practical knowledge of their field or discipline.
- Ability to interpret and evaluate the theories of their field or discipline.
- Ability to operate a variety of office equipment and machines such as computer terminal, calculator and copier.
- Ability to manage and work effectively in a highly ethnic and culturally diverse student and associate community.
- Ability to use effective communication skills, both oral and written, including presentations and effective listening skills.
- Ability to effectively use interpersonal skills, follow through with duties, provide attention to detail, and demonstrate the ability to motivate others.
- Ability to self-direct, self-pace, multi-task and function well under pressure of deadlines and conflicting priorities.
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to exercise good judgment.
- Ability to interpret rules, regulations, policies and procedures and assure compliance.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to travel/drive locally on a weekly, daily and/or on an as needed basis.
Preferred:
- Experience with MS Excel preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate bilingual skills is preferred but not required.
